Rigid catenary systems

The clonventionally used pair of contac and catenary wire can be replaced with an aluminium profile and a contact wire inserted in it. The stiffened catenary construction makes it possible to use in places with limited access and gauge. The installation of the catenary on movable arms allows it to be moved sideways or up. By making a rigid catenary in a movable version, the work becomes easier and much safer. The rigid catenary requires, in cooperation with typical pantographs of rail vehicles, a much smaller structure height, which is why it is often used in tunnels and bridges.

Maintenance depot

  • Safe and convenient access to the roof of the vehicle and the ability to operate overhead cranes and winches in their full range (due to possibility to move the catenary to the side)
  • Possibility to use lifting jakcs on a track equipped with a retractable rigid net
  • Interlocking with the depot equipment

Tunnel, bridge

  • Less height of the suspension structure, what saves the costs by reducing the height of the tunnel
  • Lack of a catenary tensioning system simplifying the design and execution process
  • Simpler and faster maintenance of scheduled and emergency catenary repairs (mainly due to lack of tension)

Station, terminal

  • Less impact on the structure of the building (no need to tension the catenary)

  • Compact design, not requiring much space for construction components
  • Enable safe access to the roof of the rail vehicle after retracting the catenary. Free operation of hoists, overhead cranes and lifting jacks
  • Possibility of reducing the height of the service depot or tunnel at the stage of construction – the necessary gap between the network and the roof / ceiling is only 300 mm – reduction of investment costs
  • Higher current carrying capacity and short circuit strength in comparison with conventional catenary
  • Higher acceptable contact wire wear, with no contact between the pantograph and the aluminum rigid profile.
  • Equivalent Cu cross-section of aluminium profile is even several times larger than in conventional catenary
  • Possible reduction of the number of auxiliary power feeders
  • Simplification of the structure and limitation of the number of assembly elements

Sanding systems

Sanding systems

Stationary installations designed and build
by Corail are dedicated for use in railway
and tramway depots, performing 24h
service. Sand distribution starts from
central silo from where sand is
transported to distributors. System is easy
to use and thanks to dust control system
can fulfil EHS requirements.
Silo is tanked from special cisterns,
allowing for significant sand price
reduction. Automated sand transport is
performed at low speed and controlled by
compressed air sampling. This special
design allows to keep sand grain size and
its shape, prevents from extensive dusting
and maximizes system lifespan.

CET Systems

CET Systems

Stationary CET systems are developed to
make rolling stock toilet service easier
and faster. System allows for hygenic and
effective operations in scope of vaccum
toilet service and water supply.
CET system is a must in everyday
maintenance depots working full time. It
eliminates problems connected to usage
of mobile solutions like necessity to reach
the train in hard terrain, multiply emptying
of waste water tank and come backs to
service place during all weather
conditions.
Outdoor systems include masts with
waste water and fresh water connections,
and central pumping station directing the
waste directly to sewage system. System
can be additionally equipped with electric
sockets, lights and heating.
CET system is designed as outdoor,
prepared for whole year operations,
always ready to work.

Anti-icing

Anti-icing

We design and build rolling stock
anti-icing systems, especially for bogies
and undercarriage elements. Anti-icing
process is done during drive through the
system and spraying an anti-icing solution
approved for railway use. The liquid is
working in closed circuit.
Efficiency and quality of service is
confirmed by biggest European railway
passenger operators facing winter
problems.
