Rotrac RR24
Rotrac RR24 is a modern rail-road vehicle available in combustion engine or electric versions. It has PKP PLK approval, which allows it to be used legally on sidings and throughout the entire railway network in Poland.
The use of the Rotrac RR24and version RR24e, significantly increases the efficiency of railway siding operations, reducing operating costs compared to traditional shunting locomotives. The vehicle can operate on both 1435 mm and 1520 mm gauge tracks, and its tractive effort is from 2400 to 2700 tons.
An advanced hydraulic system enables quick positioning of the vehicle on the tracks - in less than three minutes – which streamlines reloading operations and reduces maneuvering costs. Rotrac RR24 It is also equipped with VHF and GSM-R communication systems that meet UTK requirements, and additional optimization allows for automatic coupling and integration with remote control systems.
Depending on customer requirements, the vehicle can be configured in several variants:
• with a 160 kW (217 hp) diesel engine,
• with an electric battery with a capacity of 142 to 213 kWh,
• in a hybrid version, combining an electric drive with a diesel engine, which further extends the operating range.
Regardless of configuration Rotrac RR24 equipped with an 800-liter air tank to supply the pneumatic braking system, which increases safety during maneuvering operations.
Thanks to its mobility and versatility, the vehicle can be used both at transshipment terminals and on industrial sidings, effectively replacing shunting locomotives.
