    In the tunnel

    The rigid Corail traction network has been designed to adapt to the structure and shape of the tunnel. It can be mounted directly to the ceiling using brackets spaced as far as 12 meters apart, without creating undesirable stresses. If necessary, insulated side and ceiling mountings can be used.

    This allows the network to be installed just a few inches below the ceiling, reducing the height of the tunnel and lowering construction costs.

    The use of the rigid Corail mesh also allows for greater wear of the contact wire – up to 70% of its height. In practice, this means less frequent replacements, lower operating costs, and fewer interruptions due to maintenance and tunnel closures.

    This solution is used in railway systems as well as in tram and metro networks. The network is designed to operate at voltages ranging from 600 V to 25 kV, making it a versatile and reliable choice for demanding tunnel conditions.

    Under the overpass

    The use of a rigid Corail catenary system under the viaduct allows its original height to be reduced. The system can be mounted on insulated brackets or dedicated poles, depending on the nature of the investment and design requirements.

    This makes rigid traction networks a practical and economical solution for short sections under viaducts. Special transition elements between flexible and rigid networks minimize the impact of expansion joints, reducing additional stresses.

    The rigid Corail network also means lower life cycle costs—thanks to its high reliability and durability, maintenance work is required much less frequently.

    At the station

    Thanks to its design, the rigid Corail traction network can be successfully used both in new projects and in the modernization of existing stations.

    The use of this technology reduces the number of traction poles, which significantly improves visibility from the platforms and has a positive impact on the aesthetics of the entire space.

    This solution gives designers considerable freedom to introduce technical elements that blend harmoniously into the architecture of buildings—for example, by using synthetic cables to secure equipment.

    The rigid traction network also provides six times higher current load capacity, which reduces the risk of network burnout during intensive, spot energy consumption. As a result, trains standing at platforms or on sidings can continuously draw electricity for heating or air conditioning without the risk of excessive local wear on the cable.

    Furthermore, the risk of the travel wire breaking as a result of failure or wear is virtually eliminated, which increases the level of safety not only for service personnel but also for passengers using the station.

    An example of the application of this technology is the Madrid Metro, where a 30 km rigid network is already in operation!
